Hemlo!
I’m Maike, an illustrator and graphic designer from Ostfriesland (a peninsula on the North Sea coast of Germany).
My favourite things are cute characters and lovely details. At the moment, I prefer to focus on character design and children’s book illustration. However, I love coherent compositions and designing with typography just as much as a quick, silly sketch on the iPad.
Artist, dog mom & movie critic
As an artist, I am constantly looking for new techniques, tools, workflows and tricks. My style is characterised by cuteness, chubby cheeks, character, and a good portion of love for details.
Besides drawing, I love dogs, crafting, reading, cooking and my many plants in the flat and garden. I find a lot of inspiration in modern pop culture, the trends of the 80s and 90s, as well as TV series and movies – a hobby that also I like to share with my friends, along with festivals and concerts.
